A lovely hotel photo won't tell you whether your suitcases will fit or whether the whole family can rest properly. Focus on the room type you are actually booking, not only the facilities the hotel offers overall.
There's more to a room than the bed
A tidy bed in a photo says nothing about where you can open two suitcases, where you can pray or where your child will sleep. Request a floor plan and photos of the exact room category. After that, put together the questions below that fit your family.
Questions to put in your enquiry
Family beds: How everyone sleeps
Please could you confirm the bed setup and room occupancy for the number of adults and the children's ages I will send you?
Private bathroom: Privacy
Does this room type come with a private bathroom and a changing area behind a door that locks?
Prayer space: Floor space in the room
Is there enough clear floor space in the room to pray, and is there a suitable setup for wudu?
Lift access: Getting to the room
Can we reach this room from the entrance without steps, including by lift?
This is an illustrative room, not a real hotel plan. Before you send your enquiry, add your dates, room category, number of guests and children's ages.
Think about the walk from the station too
Find out which exit has a lift, what roads you need to cross and how the walk feels with luggage. Keep the hotel's replies together with your booking so everyone in the family sees the same details.
